3D Printing a Toothbrush Stand
I was tasked with creating a toothbrush stand that was capable of holding 4 toothbrushes. My original plan was to make my stand so that the toothbrushes would form a row, but after research, I found that it would be too big and inefficient for a design. I ended up going for a classic design of the circle on top with 4 holes on the outsides.
I started designing my toothbrush holder. I began with the base of the holder, which I made 3.2 inches in diameter. After I created the 3.2 inch diameter circle, I extruded it to 1/2 an inch. I then placed small circles on the base of the stand where the toothbrushes would rest. I then cut these small holes 1/3 into the base of the toothbrush holder.
After I completed the base of the toothbrush stand, I moved on to the top of the stand and the middle part that would connect the two. I drew out the middle part of the holder and extruded it 4 1/2 inches so it would allow enough space for the toothbrushes to stand in the holder. I then begun on the top section by creating an ellipse shape at the top of the middle rod and making it 2.6 inches long. After that, I extruded it 1/8 of an inch. I then created the circles where I wanted the toothbrushes to go and cut them out, completing my design in inventor.
